Privacy policy
Effective 29 October 2026
Ultrapedia (ultrapedia.run) is a public table of
US ultramarathons, available as a website and as an MCP server for AI agents at
https://ultrapedia.run/mcp. It is run by Lee Schmalz. This policy covers both.
What we collect
Ultrapedia has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no analytics or tracking scripts. It does not set cookies.
- Server logs. Like any web server, ours records each request: IP address, time, the page or endpoint requested, the response, and the browser or client's user agent.
- Contributions through the MCP server. When an AI agent sends a correction, a new race or a problem report, we store what it sent (the race, field, value, source URL, quote and any note), the result of our check, the client name and user agent it reported, its IP address, and whether that address belongs to a known AI provider.
- Read requests through the MCP server. Searches and queries are not stored beyond the server logs.
- Your browser. The website remembers which columns you chose in your browser's local storage. That stays on your device and is never sent to us.
- Email. If you write to support, we receive your email address and message.
We do not ask for, and do not want, personal information about you in contributions. Contributions should contain public facts about races, read from public web pages.
How we use it
- To run the site and the MCP server and keep them secure.
- To limit abuse: contributions are rate-limited per IP address.
- To check contributions: the server fetches the source URL you give and looks for the quote on that page.
- To answer support email.
We do not sell or rent any information, and we do not use it for advertising or to build profiles.
What is public
Race data is public. When a contribution is accepted, the value, its source URL and its quote become part of the public table. Who sent it (IP address, client, user agent) is never published.
Sharing
We share information only with the services that host Ultrapedia, and only as needed to run it: Google Cloud (the server, in the United States) and Cloudflare (DNS). We disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Server logs: 14 days.
- IP addresses on contributions: 90 days, then deleted. The rest of the contribution record is kept as the history of the data.
- Support email: as long as needed to answer it.
Your choices
You can use Ultrapedia without giving us anything beyond what any web request carries. To ask about, or ask us to delete, information connected to you, email support@ultrapedia.run.
Children
Ultrapedia is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
